2016 NASCAR SCHEDULE JUNE 26 Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race Sonoma Raceway Sonoma Raceway is one of only two road courses on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule. Formerly known as Infi neon Raceway, the 10-turn, 1.99-mile circuit is located only 30 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, at the gateway to the Sonoma wine country. The raceway’s fi rst event, an SCCA Enduro, was held December 1, 1968. The raceway hosted its fi rst NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in 1989 as Ricky Rudd took the checkered fl ag in a Kenny Bernstein-owned Buick. In 2002, the facility took the wraps off a $90-million Modernization Plan that included the construction of a permanent grandstand, terrace seating at Turns 2, 3, 4, 7 and 9, as well as many other facility improvements. In 2015, Kyle Busch’s victory at Sonoma not only snapped the 10-year streak of different race winners, but was the fi rst victory on his road to capturing the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title later in the series. The venue was also the site of legendary driver Dale Earnhardt’s lone NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory on a road course in 1995. And, four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon leads all drivers with fi ve victories at Sonoma.  In recent years, the Toyota/Save Mart 350 has been named in media outlets as one of the top 10 races to see each year. 82 ANTHEM MOTORSPORTS ANNUAL
