2016 NASCAR SCHEDULE Texas Motor Speedway enters its 20th season in 2016. And, in that span, the 1.5-mile track in north Fort Worth has come to host some of the most memorable moments in NASCAR history. Each year Texas Motor Speedway hosts two races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Since 2005, Texas Motor Speedway has hosted the eighth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup — the AAA Texas 500. History has shown Texas Motor Speedway’s AAA Texas 500 to be the most pivotal race in the 10-race Chase, providing drama both on and off the track. In the Lone Star State, the saying goes, “Everything is bigger in Texas,” and Texas Motor Speedway is no exception. The facility boasts the world’s largest HD video board appropriately named “Big Hoss TV.” The video board perched high above the backstretch spans 218 feet wide and 94.6 feet tall. Along with big video boards, Texas Motor Speedway boasts large crowds. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, held annually in April and November, are routinely the largest sporting events in the state of Texas and among the largest single-day events in the United States.
